Southwest Work Adventures takes you to the West’s most spectacular National Parks while working for leaders in dining and entertainment. This destination work program is located in the land of enchantment, where most people only vacation. Explore Apache culture, the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park.
Our partners in Sedona want teens and college students for positions in Food & Beverage and the Culinary Arts. Southwest Work Adventure is the perfect way to start a gap year before college or work in between semesters.
Many gap year opportunities require volunteer projects, but Adventure EXP provides paid work experience. You’ll gain leadership skills and time to explore a potential career, all while making more money than a typical gap year experience.

Southwest Program Details
The Arizona Southwest Work Adventures program isn’t just a summer job. It’s an opportunity to invest in your skillset. Once we connect you with a position that fits your experience and interests, we support you throughout the job.
As an Adventure EXP program participant, you’ll get personalized career coaching with our team. You’ll also complete basic personal finance training in budgeting, credit, investing, and earnings.
Most of our job seekers travel to Arizona from across the country. We’ll get you settled into your new home by connecting you to housing, transportation, and group excursions. We’ve got your back at every step of the way.
The Southwest Work Adventures provides the following benefits:
- Free company transportation
- Shared housing at $210 / month
- Monthly excursions to local points of interest
Please note that a car is not required for placement in this program. However, previous participants have indicated that a car was convenient to help them visit nearby attractions. The program housing is located in Cottonwood, Arizona with a free shuttle to and from Sedona. Should you bring a car, our housing has free parking available.
If you opt for Adventure EXP’s shared housing, we’ll bill you for your first month’s rent and deposit. Once you’ve settled in Sedona, your monthly rent will be deducted from your wages.
We ensure that all participants have a cost-positive experience. All of our positions are paid, meaning that you walk away richer in cash and experience.

The current Arizona minimum wage is $12.80 / hour. All rates vary based on experience level and individual department.
Excursions
On every Adventure EXP program, we plan day trips and excursions. You’ll get the chance to visit local sites and attractions. If you choose to join your cohort on one of the following summertime Southwest Adventures, we cover the cost.
